While it seems to be exaggerated, this is the collection of songs that had certain, well, moments in my life.
Could be the first song I learned to play on a particular instrument, or maybe discovered a whole new musical adventure. Most of these songs are timeless to me. So I decided to curate a Spotify playlist to enjoy the stories that these songs brought into my life. Here it is, in no particular order…

I was blown away right away from the very first riff. Anders, Jesper and Björn at their finest moment. I missed this In Flames

This is the moment I switched from piano/keyboard to synthesizers, sequencers and loops. The album changed the way I composed music, and destroyed music theory.

I will never forget the moment I listened to this and watched the video for the first time. It’s all about rage and rebellion.

For some obscure reason, I discovered this song from a “rock” various artist compilation album, although it wasn’t rock at all. I fell in love instantly, and a few days later, I bought the Vulgar Display of Power album, followed by Far Beyond Driven. It amazed me how Dime used solid-state amps to get those killer tones.

This song got me into the darkness of industrial scene, which was featured on SFW movie soundtrack. I discovered Marilyn Manson from the cover of Metal Edge magazine (R.I.P). It was a pre digital music age, so it was almost impossible to buy their CDs in my pathetic country. After months of searching, I got my first Manson CD, the Antichrist Superstar. The rest is history.

This song reminds me of the first time I used (and abused) sequencers on cheap keyboard. It was actually a 4-track recorder, not really a sequencer.

This song got me into alternate tuning for the first time. I began writing songs on acoustic guitar ever since.

People gonna hate me for this, hahaha! I’m sorry I’m not into glam rock kind of thing. So Generation Swine album suits me well. I played drums for the first time with this song. Got my first drum kit, and start banging things. Yeah \m/!

And if you’re on Spotify, here is the playlist with some extras. Enjoy!
